Strengthening International Collaboration, UIN Raden Fatah Follows Up Cooperation with Yarmouk University

On Wednesday, December 6, 2023, Raden Fatah State Islamic University (UIN) Palembang made a collaborative visit to Yarmouk University in Irbid – Jordan. During the visit, the president of Yarmouk University welcomed the delegation of UIN Raden Fatah Palembang along with all ranks of the Rectorate, Dean and Senate as well as the Head of the international cooperation and relations unit.  The delegation of UIN Raden Fatah Palembang consisted of the Rector, Prof. Nyayu Khodijah, Vice Rector II, Dr. Abdul Hadi, M. Ag, Vice Rector III, Dr. Hamidah, M. Ag. Head of Bureau of Academic Administration, Student Affairs and Cooperation (AAKK), Drs. Jumari Iswadi, and Head of Internal Supervisory Unit (SPI), Deky Anwar, Ph. D.

This friendship aims to follow up on the cooperation that has been established. This meeting discussed in detail about administration and SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) in implementing points of cooperation related to the Tridharma of Higher Education. The forms of implementation that will be carried out include seminars, research and also exchange of reviewers. Prof. Nyayu Khodijah, on this occasion conveyed further education opportunities for human resources lecturers and educators within UIN Raden Fatah, especially in terms of requirements and entrance registration which has always been an obstacle for doctoral candidates at UIN Raden Fatah in particular and Indonesia in general.

“With the collaboration that has been held so far, it is certainly an opportunity for the human resources of UIN Raden Fatah Palembang, namely lecturers and education staff to be able to continue further studies in master and doctoral programs at Yarmouk University. Hopefully in the future Yarmouk University can be wiser in accepting prospective Master and Doctoral students, “said Prof. Nyayu. Yarmouk University very much welcomes what has been conveyed by the Rector of UIN Raden Fatah Palembang and said that language prerequisites at the university can be done through imtihan wathony (a type of TOEFL test) and given the opportunity to take 3 tests.

“In the language prerequisites, Yarmouk University itself provides 3 test opportunities through imtihan wathoni, if they still fail and have not reached the score, the campus still accepts the prospective student but requires the person concerned to take the nahasa marticulation as a consequence,” explained the head of Yarmouk University. Of course this is a breath of fresh air for prospective students who apply for the Indonesia Bangkit Scholarship (BIB) and the like, especially for UIN Raden Fatah Palembang. “Hopefully in the future our Government, especially the Ministry of Religious Affairs, can list Yarmouk University as one of the preferred campus destinations in the BIB program, especially concentrations related to Arabic, Sharia, Tarbiyah and Islamic economics considering that this campus is a campus that is indeed at the forefront of Islamic economics and banking studies,” continued UIN Rector Raden Fatah.

On this occasion also accompanied the Rector, namely students of Nahdhatul ulama’ cadres who were continuing their studies at Yarmouk University.
