Rector of UIN Raden Fatah Receives the Melati Badge Award at the 63rd Scouting Celebration

PR – UINRF — Scout Members from Raden Fatah State Islamic University Palembang attended the Grand Ceremony of the 63rd Scout Day Quartir Level South Sumatra (Sumsel) Scout Movement  in the courtyard of Griya Agung Palembang, Monday (19/8/2024).

The activity, which carries the theme with the 63rd Scout Day Commemoration “Pancasila Spirit to Guard the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia”, was directly attended by PJ Governor of South Sumatra, Elen Setiadi, S.H. M.S.E.’s acting inspector of ceremonies. Deputy Chairman of the National Quartir of the Scout Movement for State Defense, Major General TNI (Ret.) Toto Siswanto, S.IP., M.M., South Sumatra Regional Leadership Coordination Forum, South Sumatra Provincial Secretary, and other invited guests were also present.

According to the Head of Regional Quartir (Kwarda) of the South Sumatra Scout Movement, Drs. H. Riza Fahlevi, M.M. reported that this year, the National Quartir of the Scout and Kwarda Movement of South Sumatra gave awards to scout members and people who contributed to the interests of the Scout movement.

“Today, scout movement awards will be given and badges will be given, including the Melati, Darma Bakti, Karya Bakti and Pancawarsa badges,” he explained.

In this activity, the Rector of UIN Raden Fatah, Prof. Dr. Nyayu Khodijah, S.Ag., M.Si received the Melati Badge award with Vice Rector II UIN Raden Fatah Palembang, Dr. Abdul Hadi, M. Ag. who received the Dharma Bakti Badge award. The honorary award was handed over and presented directly by the Acting Governor of South Sumatra, Elen Setiadi, S.H.. M. S.E.

South Sumatra Governor Elen Setiadi emphasized that to continue to commit to forming scout members, having a personality that believes, fears, noble manners, patriotic spirit, obeying the law, discipline, upholding the nation’s noble values, and having the ability to live as a cadre of the nation in preserving and building the Republic of the Republic of Indonesia.

“The Scout Movement is one of the front lines to invite all elements of the nation to strengthen the pillars of development and exemplify how the values of Pancasila embedded in themselves become a habit in daily life,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Rector of UIN Raden Fatah, Prof. Nyayu Khodijah expressed her gratitude for the award that had been given.

“Of course, this Melati badge award is a sign of extraordinary honor. I express my highest gratitude and appreciation to the Indonesian Scout Movement, hopefully the younger generation of Indonesia, especially in South Sumatra, can be the next generation of a good, virtuous nation and uphold the noble values contained in Scouts,” she said.

In addition, Vice Rector II of UIN Raden Fatah Palembang, Dr. Abdul Hadi also hopes that this award can motivate all to be more enthusiastic in developing scouting organizations.

“With this award, it is hoped that it can spur enthusiasm and give birth to a young generation who are noble, independent, love the homeland and can realize one’s character for the better, polite, honest, and caring for each other,” he hoped.
