79th Indonesian Independence Day, UIN Raden Fatah Raises the Giant Red and White Flag
PR – UINRF — Palembang, 17 August 2024, in commemoration of the 79th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia, Raden Fatah State Islamic University (UIN) Palembang again held a spectacular action by flying a giant red and white flag on the stage. courtyard of the Sudirman Campus of UIN Raden Fatah Palembang, Saturday (17/8/24).
This giant flag measuring 9×13 meters was raised enthusiastically by members of the Nature Lovers Students (MAPALA) UIN Raden Fatah Palembang who had been preparing for this event for several weeks beforehand. With their expertise, MAPALA members successfully raised the flag on the field which became a symbol of the enthusiasm and patriotism of UIN Raden Fatah Palembang students.
Not just raising the flag, this event was also followed by a series of other activities that added to the solemnity of commemorating independence. Before raising the flag, the event began with a flag ceremony led by the Rector of UIN Raden Fatah Palembang Prof. Dr. Hj. Nyayu Khodijah, S.Ag., M.Si. During the ceremony, all participants took part in a flag-raising procession accompanied by the national song Indonesia Raya which was sung enthusiastically by all participants.
The action of raising this giant flag is a strong symbol of the spirit of patriotism and love for the country that continues to burn among students at UIN Raden Fatah Palembang. Through this event, the campus wants to show that national values and nationalism remain alive and relevant in the academic community, as well as being an inspiration for the younger generation to continue to contribute to building the nation.
On this occasion, Rector of UIN Raden Fatah also delivered a message from the Minister of Religion to commemorate the services of the heroes who fought for independence.
“In fact, independence is a trust that must be guarded and cared for for the sake of the nation’s progress. For this reason, each of us comes with respect and commitment to continuing development,” said the Rector.
She also said that Indonesian independence was considered as a momentum to strengthen the direction of development and build a commitment to friendship as a pillar of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI).
