Attending AIUA-AIQA Agenda in Thailand, UIN Raden Fatah Committed to Excel in Asia

Rector of Islamic University (UIN) Raden Fatah Palembang, Prof. Dr. Nyayu Khodijah, S.Ag, M.Si, attended a workshop and international conference themed “Rethinking The Economic Social And Cultural Integration Of Islamic World In The Contemporary Era”, held by the Asian Islamic Universities Association (AIUA) – Asian Islamic Quality Assurance (AIQA).

AIUA is an association that accommodates Islamic Religious Universities (PTKI) in conducting collaboration and cooperation between universities throughout countries in Asia. AIUA’s routine agenda this time takes place at Krirk University, Bangkok, Thailand and takes place from September 12-14, 2023.

During the visit, UIN Rector Raden Fatah also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Krirk University

“International cooperation is part of realizing a superior university in Asia, and efforts to meet the criteria for superior achievement continue to be leveled through the collaboration of the tridharma of international universities,” said Dr. Nyayu Khodijah.

Meanwhile, President of Krirk University, Prof. Dr. Krasae Chanawongse said that this cooperation agreement will expand collaboration between the two universities and advance education, as well as research in relevant fields.

“We are proud to establish a partnership with UIN Raden Fatah through AIUA, hopefully this collaboration will result in sustainable collaboration,” said Prof. Dr. Krasae.

In connection with this collaboration, Prof. Dr. Jaran Maluleem, Dean of International Islamic College Bangkok (IICB) – Krirk University explained the history of the establishment of IICB in 2022 as the only Faculty that opened Hajj and Umrah Management and Islamic Business Study Programs in Thailand. In addition, IICB offers a cooperation program, namely The International College Exchange Students program for Bachelor and Master’s degree program, which will be open until September 30, 2023 and start learning in October 2023. Students will study at the university for 9 to 13 weeks. Tuition fees will be covered by IICB. However, students have to bear the cost of airfare, accommodation, and living expenses.

The opening ceremony of AIUA-AIQA was also attended by Achmad Wicaksono as the Educational and Cultural Attaché of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Thailand.
