
UIN Raden Fatah Students Represent Indonesia in the 2024 Study of the US Institutes (SUSI) Program
PR – UINRF — Raden Fatah Palembang State Islamic University (UIN) student Muhammad Rizqi represented Indonesia in the Study of the United States Institutes (SUSI) for Student Leaders program in the field of Religious Diversity and Democracy in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
This student from the Islamic Family Law Study Program, Faculty of Sharia and Law, qualified to represent Indonesia after going through a series of selection processes. Study of the US Institutes (SUSI) for Student Leaders is an intensive, short-term academic program that aims to provide a deeper understanding of the United States to a group of undergraduate students while enhancing their leadership skills.
Chancellor of UIN Raden Fatah Palembang, Prof. Dr. Nyayu Khodijah, S.Ag., M.Si expressed her pride in the achievements achieved by UIN Raden Fatah student, Muhammad Rizqi. According to the Chancellor, this is not only a representation of Indonesia but also in the United States.
“Rizqi’s election to the Study of the US Institutes not only represents UIN Raden Fatah Palembang, but Rizqi also represents Indonesia and to show Indonesia in front of other countries and to the people of the United States,” he said.
The Chancellor also hopes that in the future other UIN Raden Fatah students can follow in Rizqi’s footsteps.
“Learning has no limits, pursue education on various continents such as America, Europe and other countries. “There are many scholarships that can be accessed, start the process as early as possible, so that in the future we can create an even better generation,” said the Chancellor.
Meanwhile, Rizqi said that this program consists of a four-week academic residency, starting from 21 June – 24 July 2024. With a series of activities that will be carried out, such as discussions, seminars, readings, group presentations and balanced lectures.
“At Temple University in Philadelphia, participants will explore various minority and majority religions in the United States through lectures, activities, and visits to houses of worship to talk to community members and religious leaders,” said Rizqi Furthermore, Rizqi said that participants would also be involved in networks that promote interfaith dialogue and empower underserved religious groups.
